Second, the government has shut down and reopened, and in that time the WNBA and WNBPA still have not reached a new CBA. They’re dragging their feet so bad that the president of the WNBPA, Nneka Ogwumike, has decided to start her own (albeit, potentially unsavory, and at the very least, sketchy) league, Project B. There are so many leagues popping up it actually gave me a migraine last night. I took two Excedrin Migraine pills and nothin’ doin’. Western medicine is no match for the dizzying number of leagues that had to be created due to the WNBA’s various shortcomings. In fact, I woke up today and I still have a headache, and it will probably last as long as the people involved in Project B are still ignoring/denying their ties with Saudi Arabia or whatever the hell they’re saying. I can’t even keep track of how much evil is going on in the world, but I’ll tell you this: there is no top secret, doctors hate her for knowing these ten tricks, super legitimate and ethical way to raise $5B. Criticism of Project B and those involved are warranted - we should be following the money and asking questions of the leaders in the spaces that we follow and support. Yes, the players deserve to be paid a fair salary, but we should all be very weary of the “get a bag by any means necessary” mentality.

I don’t mean to be DRAMATIC but if we as a society don’t very resolve to actively care about how Things come to be and who funds them and how that person who is funding that Thing got their money, then we’ll never get out from under the thumb of capitalism and now, fascism. We are already funked in many ways but if we want to stop getting funked and start taking back some control, we have to be annoying. Our present and future depends on it! So get out there, be funking annoying!!! <3
